Catch Up

Well, I guess it is time to finally play catch up. This summer has been good. Michael has been better than I expected for being out of school. We have a schedule we try and follow each day, and that seems to help. Monday is Music Day, Tuesday is Math/Reading Day, Wednesday is Art Day, Thursday is Sport Day, and Friday is Fun day. It helps give the kids something to do, and me the motivation to drag out stuff I normally wouldn't to try and teach my kids. We'll see how long it lasts! June has been hot and I've tried to turn on the sprinklers at least once a week for the kids to play in. Jordan has loved every minute of it. Chris took Michael and Alex down to Virginia Beach back in June to visit his mission companion Justin. We try and see them every other month or so, and it was definitely our turn to go there. The kids had a great time playing and got to go to the ocean again. Right after they got back from that, Chris took Michael with him to Boy's State in Lynchburg, VA. As they were walking through the college, two girls popped their head out and asked if Michael wanted to see something cool. They were dissecting a cat. Michael talked about that one for a while. He also got to sit in a police car and turn on the siren, and swim in a pool. A very memorable time for him.

Jordan got tubes in her ears on the 3rd of July and it was quick and easy and I hope they help with all her ear infections. For the 4th of July Chris helped the kids build a fort in their room. It is quite a masterpiece. Then we went swimming at the Mabie's and had a great time before the rain started. We came home after some good food and the kids did sparklers in the back yard and then we said they could watch fireworks on the t.v since we weren't fighting the crowd in all the mud. Both were asleep before they even started. Over the weekend one of our SnowBlitz employees (or surrogate son/brother) received his endowments in the D.C. temple and we were able to make it up. It was such a great day.
