Michael is doing great.

He got his Bear in Cub scouts this spring and has very much been enjoying scouts.

He was able to go to scout camp this year with Chris and enjoys getting to see what the big kids get to do at camp. He's very much looking forward to Cub scout camp next week.

He also got to go on the father son campout with Daddy.

This spring he played baseball and did very very well. It was kids pitch this year and he has quite the arm on him. It took awhile to get him to throw to the catcher instead of trying to throw to the batter, but once we got that cleared up it was great.

In April he also had his half birthday dinner with mom and dad. Once a month each of the kids gets a one on one date with one parent, but after the kids are 8 on their half birthday they get to go out with both parents on a special date to a "fancy" resturant to help work on manners, and because birthday time is so crazy and half birthday's mean you get two special times of year. This year he wanted to go to a new steakhouse, Longhorn that just opened up and then get some ice cream after.

At the end of the school year they had a Mother son dance at school. He was even willing to learn the waltz to dance with me.....

Fishing with Papa is a regular event here.
He is growing up so well and is so helpful and polite most the the time. He still has a few moments here and there, but overall he really is a great kid and I enjoy getting to know him more each year as his personality develops.

He's a cool kid. Do you love having a boy as your first? Also, I love your kid date idea and the idea to celebrate half-birthdays. I just may have to adopt that. :)
